Sustainable Endurance 🐜

How often do we deploy the “do the minimum” mentality?

When we only do what is expected, we are unable to share everything we have to offer with the world. Most often, we begin to function on autopilot and miss moments as they happen. We react to a fixed template of assumptions about what’s going on, and simply go through the motions of our day. When we catch ourselves daydreaming, we instantly focus on the present moment and begin to wonder where the time has gone.

If we can fully immerse ourselves in the possibilities that surround us, we gain the ability to make a difference, no matter the scale. Too often we underestimate the power of a smile, listening ear, honest compliment, or smallest act of caring. In actuality, these “minute” gestures all have the potential to turn a life around.

As the famous poet Joan Walsh Anglund says, “a bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.”

Sincerely,
